Some weeks ago Ms. Fiester learned of a young Journalism student from Kansas who smugly asserted that JFK Conspiracy Theories were not for the well informed (like him).

While you were getting your journalism degree, the scientific community was developing new forensic techniques. Subsequently, speculation concerning a conspiracy in the assassination of JFK been moved from the “theory†side of town and now resides in the “absolutely†neighborhood. Filtering evidence in the Kennedy assassination theories through contemporary, reliable, established forensic disciplines reveals cohesive and compelling evidence for multiple shooters—evidence supported by the weight of scientific validity. The latest developments in bullet trajectory analysis, wound ballistic research, blood spatter analysis, fracture-sequencing research, and bullet lead analysis studies now prove a shot from the front. These are accepted practices addressed in new forensic textbooks and peer reviewed scientific journals.
Odd you would accept a Warren Commission theory they documented in their report as being unable to recreate. By its own admission, the Warren Commission did not demonstrate a trajectory that proves the Single Bullet Theory (SBT) correct; yet, the SBT hinges on trajectory. “The alignment of the points of entry was only indicative and not conclusive that one bullet hit both men. The exact positions of the men could not be re-created; thus, the angle could only be approximated†(WCR, p. 107). To circumvent the problem of having no proof, the Warren Commission just declared their inability to prove the validity of the SBT as inconsequential (WCR:19).
The House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA) also addressed the SBT. They recognized the slope, or the downward angle of the trajectory and the horizontal or right to left direction was different in all three trajectories. From the Texas School Book depository to Kennedy, the slope reference to horizontal was 22°, through Kennedy it was 90°, and 20° from Kennedy to Connally.
CANNING: Yes, those two angles are different. Our interpretation of the data tells us that if we were to determine one trajectory based on the two pieces of information, one the Governor’s wound, and the President’s neck wound, that that will give us one line. The other wound, the other wound pair in the President, will give us a second line. Those two lines do not coincide (HSCA 2: 191).

GOLDSMITH: Mr. Canning, each of the three trajectories that you constructed had different slope, different direction, and a different margin of error. What consequence, if any can you attribute to these differences?
Mr. CANNING. The differences may well arise simply because all measurements are imprecise, and it would simply be unrealistic to expect the slopes and directions to be identical (HSCA 2: 191).
Really? One could expect some minor variations in measurements, which would result in minor differences in wound angles. However, a 22 degree angle trajectory from the TSBD suddenly becoming a 90 degree angle traversing Kennedy’s neck, followed by a 20 degree angle downward into Connally is more than a minor deviation from a single trajectory. It is a second trajectory—and one proved by the HSCA Forensic panel. The HSCA stated in its report, “There was a high probability that a second gunman, in fact, fired at the President. At the same time, the committee candidly stated, in expressing its finding of conspiracy in the Kennedy assassination, that it was "unable to identify the other gunman or the extent of the conspiracyâ€.
